Get away from your desk – get out into the field! Be active in a community and keep both feet on the ground: our community garden InchbyInch offers an excellent opportunity to do so. Münster CERes rents a small plot of land, part of it already planted, from a local lessor of vegetable gardens.
Every season, we invite doctoral researchers and postdocs to take care of our Inchbyinch garden together. Emerging researchers from all over the world discover the diversity of ecological gardening, harvest fresh vegetables and colourful flowers - and grow not only personally but also as a team. This creates a lively ‘roots’ community that shares knowledge, joy and responsibility.
In the community garden you can ...
… and then return to your desk or to the lab with your batteries recharged!
DOCTORAL RESEARCHERS, POSTDOCS
Our community garden InchbyInch offers a unique excuse to leave your desk and load new energy in the field. During the season (April/May – November) you share the work, the harvest, and the time outside with other doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
During the season inauguration event you will get further information about the garden and the chance to ask questions. If the field is already open, we will jointly cycle to the field.
Outcomes:
– Learn about organic and sustainable gardening
– Share and taste the harvest
– Get to know local gardeners, build a sweat network
– Relax and free your mind
