BACCARA Power Day - 19 May 2022

On 19 May 2022 we finally had our first external conference at the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster, the BACCARA Power Day, and we are very proud to call it a real success! We would like to thank everyone who attended the conference and made it such a great event. The opening speech was held by the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, Prof. Dr. Joachim Jose, and by one of our scientific speakers, Prof. Dr. Frank Glorius. There were four panels of discussion, namely Batteries and Energy Storage, Materials, New Perspectives and Methods, each of them with inspiring presentations from the following experts: Prof. Dr. Maximilian Fichtner, Dr. Susanne Dörfler, Dr. Aurora Gomez Martin, Prof. Dr. Christine Kranz, Prof. Dr. Andreas Heuer, Prof. Dr. Michael Ryan Hansen and Prof. Dr. Ulrike Krewer. Each talk was followed by fruitful discussions.

Another highlight was the poster competition, in which 20 posters gave insights on the research projects of PhD students not only belonging to BACCARA but also coming from other universities. The three winners of the awarded posters were:
1. place: Linda Quach (Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Frank Glorius, category "Materials")
2. place: Björn Wankmiller (Supervisors: Prof. Dr. Michael Ryan Hansen and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Zeier, Category "Methods")
3. place: Krishnaveni Palanisamy (Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Christine Kranz, Category "Batteries and Energy Storage")

Congratulations to the winners, but also to all other participants! Last but not least, a big "Thank you" to all the PhD students of the International Graduate School BACCARA for their voluntary commitment and great help!
