Circular letter to the students (03 Februar 2023)

Dear Students,

On 1 February 2023 several legal mandates concerning infection protection measures were discontinued. We are writing you today to inform you of these changes. For all the following points, please note that other rules may apply to the Faculty of Medicine (FB 05) and the medical campus.

Hygiene measures and concepts

Each of us can and should protect ourselves and others from getting infected. Please do your part to maintain a hygienic and healthy environment, e.g. by ventilating regularly, washing your hands and sneezing into the crook of your arm. Hygiene concepts for courses at the University are no longer obligatory. The number of disinfectant dispensers will be successively reduced in buildings of the WWU.

Masks

Face mask usage is no longer explicitly recommended in buildings and courses at the WWU.

Isolation and quarantine

The legal mandate to isolate at home in the case of infection with the coronavirus was lifted on 1 February 2023. If you do fall sick, the Coronavirus Protection Regulations (CoronaSchVO) strongly recommend wearing at least a medical-grade mask (surgical mask) for at least five days in indoor spaces outside your own home. This also applies to indoor rooms at the University of Münster.

Teaching and examination activities

The current Coronavirus Epidemic Higher Education Regulations remain in place until 31 March 2023. Consequently, all provisions therein will continue to apply until the end of WiSe 2022/23. For details about these regulations, please visit https://www.uni-muenster.de/de/en/semester-information.shtml. At present, it is unclear whether and to what extent the Coronavirus Epidemic Higher Education Regulations will be extended.

WWUzoom

Members of the University can continue using WWUzoom to conduct video conferences and digital meetings (including shared screens and chat mode) with up to 300 participants.

We wish you a pleasant start to the lecture-free period.

Sincerely yours,

Prof. Dr Johannes Wessels, Rector

Matthias Schwarte, Head of Administration
