In 1925, an ‘Institute of Physical Exercise’ was founded at the University of Münster with the aim of bringing together and promoting the various sporting activities of the students. At the time, it was not foreseeable that this would develop over the decades into a separate department and then an institute for sports science. Two generations later, the first professors were appointed.
In this commemorative publication, we look back on 100 years of physical exercise and sport at the University of Münster: from Horstmarer Landweg to Kleinwalsertal, from neuromotor skills to social sciences, from the sports field to the lecture hall. Generations of lecturers and students have inspired us with their passion. We look back in amazement and look ahead with curiosity. You'll find the online version here
