The Geological Planetology group studies the solid surfaces of planetary bodies in our solar system (e.g., planets, moons, asteroids) and their surface processes (e.g., volcanism, impact cratering, tectonism).
Prof. B. Gundlach
Why do comets have tails? What can asteroids and moons teach us about our solar system? Using laboratory experiments, space data, and numerical modeling, we study the processes at work in the planets of our solar system as well as its origins.
