Research focus

Alexander Mook's research group Collective Quantum Phenomena and Topology in Condensed Matter focuses on the theory of quantum mechanical many-particle systems with a particular emphasis on aspects such as magnetism, topology, and collective excitations. The group studies how the geometry and symmetry of quantum systems influence the properties of quantum mechanical quasiparticles, such as magnons and phonons, and how these particles can be used for information transport. New insights in this field will help to develop quantum technologies with a smaller environmental footprint by helping to make future data processing and storage more sustainable.
