The Urban Mobility Transition from the Perspective of Junior Scholars

On September 23 and 24 the junior research group DynaMo held the interdisciplinary and international workshop "Paving Ways: Junior Researchers Perspectives on urban mobility transitions" under the co-leadership of ZIN member Antonia Graf. Together with a total of twelve invited researchers from eight different institutions in four countries - Belgium, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Germany - the junior research group members discussed the status of their respective projects and different aspects of the socio-technical transformation of urban mobility systems.

The two-day workshop held at the International Meeting Center (IBZ) of the University of Stuttgart focused on the diverse perspectives of various junior scholars on the research topic of DynaMo. In order to discuss current results, questions as well as everyday problems and challenges of the respective dissertation projects, the junior research group chose an innovative format in which both other doctoral students and their supervisors or more experienced members of the respective research group (senior peers) were invited as a tandem to present their own projects and provide feedback on the projects within DynaMo, including those of ZIN junior scholars Berenike Feldhoff and Nils Stockmann.

Many thanks to all participants who contributed to the success of the workshop with their commitment, critical comments and helpful advice.
