Cycling – The #1 sport of daily life

The most popular mode of transportation in Münster is the bicycle – or “Leeze” (LAY-tse) in Münster dialect. Of course, most people don’t use bikes as sporting equipment, but cycling does help you get exercise while doing something for the environment.

The international campaign STADTRADELN, in which students at the University of Münster are called upon each year to participate, aims to draw attention to cycling, climate protection and a higher quality of life. Every year over 1,200 communities across Germany compete for the title “Most Active Cycling Community”. All kilometres cycled by every participant during the campaign can be either recorded online or tracked directly via the STADTRADELN app.

University Sports

Regular exercise can help you tackle the challenges of life at university better. The sport/physical activity best suited to you largely depends on your individual situation and personal interests. Some people are looking for a full workout on a racing bike, while others prefer the gentle movements of yoga. And for others, the best way to end the day, relieve stress and feel altogether better is to play a pick-up football match in the evening.

The diverse University Sports programme offers something for everyone!
