Courses
In our department, we offer regular courses on didactic theory, history and basic research. At the same time, we work with our students in an application-oriented way on attitudes, techniques and skills, which we develop, test and reflect on in the protected space of the university. This is done with a view to the requirements of the practical semester and the second and third phases of teacher training. Regular focal points include, for example, courses on methods, diagnostics, inclusive subject teaching and language education in social science lessons.
Here you will find current information on the structure and courses of the Bachelor's degree program (Gym/Ges & HRSGe) and the Master of Education.

Information on Erasmus Exchanges
The institute, together with the Erasmus Office, has compiled a selection of partner universities whose program structures are particularly well or well suited to our teacher-training degree programs in the social sciences. These universities generally offer a high level of curricular compatibility, which makes it easier to have academic achievements recognized.
Partner universities of the institute with particularly good suitability:
- University of Agder, Kristiansand (NO)
- (See information on special courses for exchange teacher-training students here)
- Radboud University Nijmegen (NL)
Partner universities of the institute with good suitability:
- University of Tartu (EE)
- University of Jyväskylä (FI)
- Latvijas Universitāte Riga (LV)
- Universytet Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej, Lublin (PL)
- University of Warsaw (PL)
- Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Lisbon (PT)
- Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (ES)
- Istanbul Kültür University (TR)
Please note: You should always check individually how the courses offered there can be combined with your own study plans, modules, and examination regulations. This also applies to all other Erasmus partner universities of the institute that are not listed here but may be a very good fit in individual cases. You can find the complete overview at this link.
For questions regarding planning and applications, the institute’s Erasmus Office will support you (exchange.ifpol@uni-muenster.de). Questions about recognition of academic achievements must be clarified with the program advisory service (beratung.lehramt.sowi@uni-muenster.de).
In addition, it is possible to make use of partner universities from other institutes—particularly sociology, economic education, educational science, or your second subject—provided that their offerings can be meaningfully integrated into your studies. You can also use the following cross-faculty database for this purpose (link).
