Some background information:
In recent years, the topic of the "postdoc phase" has increasingly become the focus of several interest groups: e.g. university policy makers, personnel development, organizations promotion young research talents etc. In many universities and research institutions, Postdocs are forming postdoc Networks or associations to help them bundle their contributions and channel them into the institutions.
The varied aims and interests of such networks/Association include:
- improving interactions and promoting exchange of information and experiences within the postdoctoral community
- Creating a network of scientific and social interactions among postdocs
- Involvement of postdocs in organising career development events and workshops
- Enhancing the postdoc experience and career through peer support
- Facilitating information flow between postdoctoral and other communities and institutions at the university
- Ensuring that the Postdoc community is understood, valued, and heard
If and how such a network/Association could be conceived for Postdocs at the WWU Münster will be a topic of discussion on that evening.
