2009-11-20 Shobhna Kapoor Receives Young Scientist Award 2009
The Graduate School of Chemistry has honored Shobhna Kapoor from India with the NRW Young Scientist Award 2009 in the category chemistry. The award ceremony took place on 20. November 2009 in the Akademie der Wissenschaften in Düsseldorf, where the certificate was handed over by Staatssekretär Dr. Michael Stückradt. Shobhna Kapoor is honored for her publication "Structure and Function of Hemoglobin Confined Inside Silica Nanotubes" in J. Phys. Chem. B 119 (2009) 14189 - 14195. The work was conducted during her Master Thesis at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India, and her coauthors are Soumit S. Mandal, Aninda J. Bhattacharyya.
