Science communication and research management

Professor Hubert Wolf and his team are particularly committed to communicating research results and church historical knowledge in general, be it by means of talks, interviews, newspaper articles, educational material or books intended for a general audience. The Department of Medieval and Modern Church History therefore offers a comprehensive range of services for media coverage, the organisation of lectures and collaborations with schools. A selection of press reports on the department's work can be found in our media review. The research conducted in the Vatican Apostolic Archive (formerly the Vatican Secret Archive), the Archive of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (the successor to the Holy Roman Inquisition), and many other Roman archives is of particular public interest.

For many years, professor Hubert Wolf has been involved in promoting dialogue between science and the general public. He incorporates his church historical expertise into broader interdisciplinary contexts of political and scientific history. In 2004, he was granted the “Communicator Award – Science Award of the Stifterverband” by the German Research Foundation.
