Research Centre for the History of the Diocese of Münster

The Research Centre at the Faculty of Catholic Theology offers one course per semester on the history of the Diocese of Münster. The research aim consists in collecting, exploring and evaluating the files relating to the history of the diocese conserved in the Vatican Archives that became accessible with the opening of the archives in March 2020.

The research centre follows the tradition of the Institute for the History of the Diocese of Münster. The seat of the research centre is located on the second floor of Aegidiistraße 67, and contact person is Dennis Hartjes. Pia Wontorra is also involved in the project as a student assistant.
