Voter model is a paradigmatic interacting particle system modelling dynamics of exchange of information in a network of individuals. A classical backwards-in-time duality relates the consensus time in the voter model with the total coalescence time of a system of coalescing random walks. We report on a spectral approach to sharp asymptotic meeting times of random walks and apply it - as a proof of concept - to large connected Erdös-Rényi random graphs.
