The classical Markov equation is an equation between the ranks of the vector bundles in an exceptional sequence of vector bundles on P^2. This equation does not generalize to other situations by several reasons, in particular, the absence of a rank function. The aim of this talk is to define polynomial invariants for triangulated categories with a full exceptional sequence. The main result gives a complete classification of these polynomial invariants for any length of a full exceptional sequence.
