Abstract: Hyperbolic geometry and Floer homology are arguably two of the most powerful tools available to study the topology of three-manifolds. Despite this, their mutual interactions are very mysterious. I will discuss some work joint with M. Lipnowski trying to uncover some of them; a key ingredient is the spectral theory of the Hodge Laplacian on coexact 1-forms.
