Abstract: Kimmel introduced a continuous-time model of a population of parasites that colonizes a cell population. The model was later slightly generalized by Bansaye who adopted the generation viewpoint and derived some interesting result when picking a random cell line. I will discuss some of their results including some recent findings of a Master student of mine in the linear fractional case.
