Abstract: I will give an overview of a geometric construction of twisted K-theory due to B-L Wang which generalises the method of Baum-Douglas using geometric cycles. I will also explain an analytic construction which is used in the Freed-Hopkins-Teleman theorem for equivariant twisted K-theory of a semisimple Lie group following an approach of Mickelsson.
