Abstract: We consider the incompressible Euler equations in two dimensions perturbed by a suitable noise term, called transport noise (on the vorticity). This choice of noise keeps the enstrophy preserved, as in the deterministic case. We show well-posedness among bounded vorticity solutions and existence among nonnegative $H^{-1}$ vorticity solutions, thus generalizing to the stochastic case classical results by Yudovich and Delort. If time allows, we also show that bounded solutions can be approximated by a system of interacting vortices. Based on joint works with Zdzislaw Brzezniak, Michele Coghi and Franco Flandoli.
