

Admission Requirements
To apply for our Master’s programme you need
- to have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree programme at a German or foreign university with a proportion of studies of 120 ECTS
- B2 English language skills
Focus Mathematical and Computational Data Science:
- B.Sc. in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Data Science or Statistics
Of these, at least 40 ECTS must be earned in the core foundational areas, including 20 credit points in the mathematics
areas of Analysis, Linear Algebra,Discrete Mathematics, or Numerical Methods,
as well as an additional 20 ECTS in the statistics areas of Descriptive Statistics, Probability Theory, or Inferential Methods, or in the computer science areas Algorithms, Data Structures, Programming/Software Engineering, or Theoretical Computer Science.
The remaining 80 ECTS must be earned through additional relevant courses in mathematics, computer science, statistics, or data science.
Focus Data Science in Physics:
- B.Sc. in Physics with at least
30 ECTS in the field of experimental physics
30 ECTS in the field of theoretical physics
30 ECTS in the field of mathematical foundations
20 ECTS in the field of physics laboratory courses
Focus Data Science in Chemistry:
- B.Sc. in Chemistry with at least
80 ECTS in the field of chemistry,
70 ECTS in the fields of natural sciences, mathematics, computer science
of the total 150 credit points mentioned above, at least 6 ECTS must be in the field of quantum mechanics/theoretical chemistry
and at least 5 ECTS must be in the field of mathematics
Focus Pharmaceutial Data Science:
- B.Sc. with a focus on chemistry, with at least
9 ECTS in organic chemistry and
5 ECTS in Mathematics
Applicants who did not obtain their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking institution, an additional admission requirement is proof of sufficient knowledge of the German language to actively participate in courses. This proof must be provided in accordance with the provisions of the DSH examination regulations of the University. Proof is not required for applicants whose native language is German.
