Research Topic

My research focuses on the design and synthesis of novel drug candidates targeting thioredoxin reductase (TrxR) in Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) as potential new antituberculotic agents. Building on fragment hits previously identified by the Koch group, I aim to develop these fragments into potent inhibitors using a combination of fragment-based drug discovery and structure-based drug design methodologies. This workflow integrates iterative cycles of molecular design, chemical synthesis, and biochemical evaluation, guided by structural and computational insights.
