  1. Innovation and technology management,
  2. Electrochemical energy storage technologies,
  3. Sustainability and circular economy, and
  4. Business models.

Our degree programs include the interdisciplinary M.Sc. Business Chemistry.

The SolidTool research project

aims to develop a simulation-based and data-driven platform for the holistic analysis and support of product and process development for solid-state batteries. The core of the project is a digital toolbox that provides predictive models and tools to evaluate key parameters such as cell energy, manufacturing costs, product carbon footprint (PCF), and cell performance already in the early stages of development.

Your tasks:

The main focus of your work is research and project work, particularly in the area of data management, data analysis, and modeling of electrochemical energy storage systems, as well as their business-oriented and sustainable operation.

Your central tasks include:

  • Development and execution of modular and process-based life cycle assessments (LCA) for solid-state battery cells.
  • Extension of LCA models to include various future scenarios, taking into account political, technological, and systemic developments.
  • Active participation in the acquisition of additional third-party funding and in teaching through seminars, exercises, as well as supervision of seminar and master's theses.
  • Writing scientific publications.
  • Conducting a doctoral project.

Our expectations:

  • You have successfully completed a Master's degree (university degree) in Business Chemistry or Chemistry.
  • Prior knowledge in the areas of life cycle assessments, techno-economic evaluations, and electrochemical energy storage technologies, their business models, and associated production technologies is an advantage.
  • Good English language skills and a confident handling of standard software products are required.
  • Team spirit and the ability to work independently on projects are essential.

Your benefits:

  • Appreciation, commitment, openness, and respect – these are values that are important to us.
