About the FFF-Research Network
The FFF-Research Network was founded on 28 February 2024 by Prof. Dr. Stefanie Frisch (Goethe University Frankfurt) and Prof. Dr. Julia Reckermann (University of Münster).
It consists of a group of currently 60 researchers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland who are engaged in research on early foreign language learning in schools. The objectives are to foster networking, encourage collegial exchange, support early-career researchers and raise the visibility of research activities. Networking takes place within the discipline and with other institutions, and knowledge/research is transferred to schools, educational politics, and the public.
The members see foreign language learning as part of basic education. Foreign language teaching in primary schools is so important for the education and upbringing of future generations and for the common good in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that it should be firmly established in primary schools, ideally from Year 1 onwards.
