The Innovation Office (AFO) has offered courses in "Knowledge Transfer" since 2008, providing students with cross-disciplinary insights into complex innovation systems in business and society as an integral part of their degree programmes. In 2009, the curriculum was significantly expanded; in addition to introductory compact courses on patents and property rights, business start-ups, information mining and knowledge management, the AFO began offering full-semester seminars on conflict management, mediation and leadership to help participants hone their communication skills. The AFO was especially pleased with the positive course evaluations (average rating) provided by the participants. The University of Münster offered a joint seminar on "Science Communication" for the first time in 2010 in cooperation with the Münster University of Applied Sciences (FH).
