Policy against discrimination and harrassment

All members of the University community have the right to work, teach and learn in an environment that is free from harassment and discrimination. The University of Münster is committed to fostering a safe and respectful campus environment for its students, faculty and staff.  The University's policy against discrimination and harrassment establishes a binding framework for a community characterized by appreciation, fairness and mutual respect. The policy provides information on possible courses of action in cases of discrimination, abuse of power, harassment and violence, stalking, and bullying; outlines clear procedures in the event of a conflict; and specifies possible measures in case of violations. It applies to all members and associates of the University of Münster, as well as those who work at or for the University but are not employees.

Support and advice for persons impacted by discrimination

If you are or have been impacted by discrimination – regardless of whether the incident occurred many years ago or only just recently – you should know that you are not alone. The University’s support and advice offices offer a safe environment where you can describe what you’ve experienced without having to fear negative reactions or consequences. As a victim or observer of discrimination, you can count on receiving confidential support and advice on protection and options for action, e.g. by lodging a formal complaint.

We are here for you.

On the following pages, you will find more information on our support and advice services available to students and employees in a university context.
