Institute Colloquium

Dr. Jörg Hüttermann

We are delighted to invite you to our next institute colloquium! Dr Jörg Hüttermann (University of Bielefeld) has been invited to give a lecture on 24 January. The colloquium starts at 2 pm c.t. in the conference room. The title of the lecture is: "Approach and programme of a figuration-sociological conflict analysis of the German migration society". Dr Hüttermann has used this research approach, developed over many years of empirical work, to investigate conflicts in the migration society on the basis of a variety of qualitative analyses. The lecture will explain the extent to which the perspective adopted can be characterised as a relational research approach and is therefore particularly suitable "for application to social conflicts". (Author´s abstract). At the centre of the approach are concepts and terms of figuration-sociological conflict analysis such as figuration, social figure, interdependence, sequence, conflict and (urban) society. The institute colloquium offers a unique opportunity to engage with this innovative field of research and its possibilities. All interested parties are cordially invited!
