Writer, activist, and performer Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton will read from and discuss her memoir "Black Chameleon" on June 19th at 7 pm at the Studiobühne of the WWU, Domplatz 23. This event is in commemoration of the proclamation of the end of slavery in the United States on June 19, 1865 and is meant to not only enter into a discussion on contemporary systemic racism in the U. S. but also to discuss the importance of mythology for Black women in the U. S., the potentials of autobiographical genres, and the role literature plays for the times in which we currently live. The event is hosted by Silvia Schultermandl and Gulsin Ciftci.
