Rule change for 3G checks – Stickers invalid after 24 Jan. 2022
Due to recent changes made to the Coronavirus Protection Regulations (among other legal provisions) regarding the validity of one’s immunisation status, the University of Münster must now amend its established rules on 3G checks for students and employees. From now on, those who have convalesced from Covid 19 are no longer considered immune for a period of six months, but rather only 90 days.
As a result, the validity of the magenta-coloured stickers on student ID cards issued at the beginning of the semester will expire on 23 January 2022. According to § 4 of the Coronavirus Protection Regulations, students who wish to participate in in-person courses or examinations are still required to provide proof of their 3G status. Furthermore, only those who can substantiate their 3G status will be permitted to enter University buildings.
To ensure that 3G checks are conducted as safely and effectively as possible, we ask everyone to verify their personal status via digital certificates and present these upon request using the Corona-Warn-App.
The check-in procedures will continue as before at the entrances to buildings, classrooms and examination rooms. These will be conducted until the end of the lecture period – either by the studenta.worx staff or the course instructors themselves. We recommend using the CovPassCheck app of the RKI to verify the authenticity of the presented QR codes. The check-in staff will continue to compare personal data with official photo IDs on a random basis. For in-person courses, the check-in staff have been asked to cross-check the identity of at least 10% of the participants. For in-person examinations, the 3G check can be conducted in one go thanks to the ID checks normally required for examinations.
We are already making plans to re-verify the 3G status of our employees. Further information on this will be sent to you shortly.
Rules may vary on access to courses offered by the faculties 05, 07 (sport and exercise sciences) and 15, as well as buildings on the medical campus.
