Site Visits Completed: “Mathematics Münster” and “Religion and Politics” Impress in Bonn
On February 6 and 7, 2025, the two Clusters of Excellence at the University of Münster – Mathematics Münster and Religion and Politics – reached another key milestone in the ongoing Excellence Strategy: the evaluation meetings in Bonn as part of the Clusters of Excellence funding line.
With compelling presentations, scientific depth, and a strong strategic vision, the speaker teams and accompanying Principal Investigators made full use of the opportunity to showcase their research, support for early-career scholars, and international visibility. University Rector Prof. Dr. Johannes Wessels attended the site visits, underlining the vital role the clusters play in strengthening Münster as a center of research.
The Clusters of Excellence took to the national stage to highlight what sets them apart: academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a clear vision for the future.
The evaluation phase will continue until May 22, 2025, when the final decisions for the next round of funding will be announced. A positive outcome would mark the beginning of the new funding period on January 1, 2026.
The Future Lab supports both Clusters of Excellence throughout the competitive process, serving as a central hub for strategic guidance, coordination, and administrative assistance.
