"Girls on the move" - exciting questions and discussions about moving on Girls' Day

"Is it also possible to study sports in Bavaria?" – that was the final question asked at the first digital Girls' Day at the IfS. An interest in sports science was sparked! 29 girls from all over Germany came together on April 22nd on Zoom to conduct self-experiments in small groups in their own living room (can you do more foot-tappings than your grandparents?), discuss research results (how does the movement pattern of children with ADHD change after a skateboard intervention?), and share experiences on how to deal with coaches, teammates and fans (why do cockroaches run faster when other cockroaches are watching?). Finally, Claudia Voelcker-Rehage summarised for everyone what sports science actually is and why she likes doing it so much.

The answer to the question: "Yes, you can study sports all over Germany, and hopefully you enjoy it as much as we do!"
