The Institute of Sport Science is pleased to welcome a distinguished guest from Turkey during the week of April 20th: Dr. Nurgül Keskin Akın, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University.
About the Researcher:
Dr. Keskin Akın conducts research in exercise and sport psychology and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in this field. Her research focuses on self-efficacy, relational efficacy beliefs, motivation, and motivational climate in sport and physical education. In particular, she studies empowering and disempowering motivational climates and their influence on students’ motivation and leisure-time physical activity.
She is currently a researcher in two TÜBİTAK-funded projects. One examines dual careers in sport and athletes’ career environments in relation to social mobility, while the other investigates the effects of autonomy supportive coaching on motivation and coach-athlete relationships among grassroots youth football players.
