At the Institute of Slavic Studies, you can learn Polish, Russian, Czech, and Ukrainian in a welcoming and engaging learning environment. Our courses for beginners and advanced learners are taught in small groups, giving you plenty of opportunities to actively use the language and develop your skills.

Each winter semester, we offer introductory courses for beginners. In the following semesters, you can continue with more advanced courses and build on what you have learned. Our language courses at levels I–IV comprise 4 hours per semester week (SWS). For students with more advanced language skills, we also offer reading, conversation, and translation courses, each comprising 2 SWS.

Our language courses are primarily aimed at students of Slavic Studies, but they are also open to all interested students as part of the General Studies program. (If you are not studying Slavic Studies, please register through the General Studies program.)
