Funding Acknowledgements
For publications arising from third-party funded research, so-called funding acknowledgements provide information about the source of financial support. In addition to the funding organisation, a number for the funded project or the grant approval notice is usually also provided.
Before completing your publication, please check wether an acknowledgement is necessary and what form it should take. In this way, you will not only fulfil the requirements of the funders, but also ensure that the data is correctly recorded in databases, which is essential for subsequent bibliometric analyses.
- The German Research Foundation (DFG) has compiled detailed information on the correct indication of funding acknowledgements for DFG funds.
- There is also such an overview for EU funding from the European Commission.
- If you already know before submitting an open access article that reimbursement of costs is possible via the University of Münster's publication fund, please also include the following note: "We acknowledge support from the Open Access Publication Fund of the University of Münster."
