The Department for Quantum Technology at the Faculty of Physics was established in 2021 to strengthen the emerging field of Quantum Science, Education and Technology at the University of Münster.  Research, teaching and transfer activities at the Department are geared towards topics with overarching relevance for quantum information processing, quantum communication, and quantum sensing. The Department will be home to experimental and theoretical research groups addressing enabling quantum technologies, quantum networks, system aspects and coherent control of quantum systems, as well as a wide range of applications. The broad portfolio of methodologies followed at the Department includes the latest nano-structuring and -characterization capabilities at the Münster Nanofabrication Facility and modern laboratory infrastructure at the Center for NanoTechnology and the Center for Soft Nanoscience.
