3.1 Major Subject
You must prepare all works (included in the programme you uploaded with your application) in their entirety. During the Live Entrance Audition in the Major Subject, you will be required to perform approximately 10 to 15 minutes of this programme. The examination committee will select the works to be performed. The following guidelines apply:
- The exam consists of a performance of three pieces of the candidate’s choice (maximum total duration of 15 minutes) and an impromptu exam. When selecting the songs, a certain stylistic range should be taken into account; the focus should be on presenting the candidate’s artistic personality as effectively as possible. The performance may be accompanied by the candidate’s own band or using a play-along track (original songs or arrangements of other composers’ works). All facets of pop music are acceptable.
In the impromptu exam, the candidate will be asked to play various grooves and styles on the spot. The exam will conclude with a discussion in which the candidate will be asked about their personal motivation and goals.
There is no exam for the Subsidiary Subject.
