Research Focus

Structure of silicate glasses and melts

I work on the atomic scale structure of silicate melts at ambient and high pressure, and its relation to dynamical properties such as viscosity. The tools I use are diamond anvil cells (DACs), vibrational and X-ray spectroscopy techniques, ab initio molecular dynamics and soon also machine learning potentials.
