Equal Treatment

For the CIT, a high degree of diversification in terms of the age structure, life plans, and gender of our employees is an important goal in order to benefit from different perspectives and experiences, and not to lose contact with the reality of our users. The CIT aims to promote equality between men and women as well as the compatibility of work and family life, to reduce the under-representation of women wherever possible and to enhance the value of activities at workplaces mainly occupied by women. In addition, the CIT sees it as its task to minimise the gender gap with regard to new media technologies by imparting IT and media competence in order to enable women to participate equally in the information society and to avoid disadvantages in professional life.

"IT for girls": Platform for Career Orientation
The interactive website www.it-for-girls.de [de] provides young women with playful information about innovative and promising IT occupations before they make their career choice. In addition to background information on the occupational field and a vocational orientation test, women from the IT sector present their everyday working lives in order to provide insights into the IT world and break down prejudices. The platform was created as part of the "Digital Me" project at Münster University.
