For the d.3 document management system, affected items include student documents, invoice documents processed within the workflow, and documents used in the online application process (OAV). The d.velop documents web client and the Outlook integration will also be available only on a limited basis during this period.

Follow-Me Printing (INPAS) on the multifunction printers will only be available to a limited extent on February 12 between 5 and 6 p.m.

Between 8:15 a.m. and 9:50 a.m. today, there were disruptions in the use of MySciebo. The problem has now been resolved.

Between January 30th and February 2nd, until approximately 1 p.m., there were disruptions in the accessibility of the Sciebo instance uni-muenster.sciebo.de. The problem has now been resolved.

Between  approx. 5:00 pm and 5:40 pm today the network connections to the openstack system at Schlossplatz were non functional. The problem has now been resolved.

Due to a current outage of the OpenScape UC Webclient, there will be brief telephone service disruptions around 2 PM today. Users should not interrupt any active calls during this time. New calls will be established with a slight delay.

Between approximately 8:00 AM on January 23, 2026, and approximately 3:30 PM on January 26, 2026, there were disruptions to telephony using the UC Webclient. The problem has since been resolved.

Between 12:00 and 12:16 today, there were disruptions in the use of the OTP (One-Time Password). The problem has now been resolved.

On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, maintenance work at Zoom will now take place from 5:00 p.m. onwards. During this time, there may be disruptions to the Zoom login process.

The poster printing service (official printing of posters for university employees) at the CIT location at Einsteinstr. 60 will be discontinued on December 31, 2025. Posters can still be ordered via the usual channels until Friday, December 19, 2025, after which the university will close for Christmas.

On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, maintenance work will be carried out at Zoom during the morning. During this time, there may be disruptions to the Zoom login process.

From December 1, 2025, to January 2, 2026, the Service Desk will only be available by phone from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Service hours remain unchanged. Please use the ticket system or send us an email at it.servicedesk@uni-muenster.de .

There have been issues with the re-licensing of Statistica. From December 1, 2025, Statistica is expected to be unavailable for some time. We are working on a solution and will try to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

This will affect student documents, invoice documents processed within the workflow, and documents used in the online application process (OAV), among others. From 26.11.2025, the WLAN authentication server radius06 will use a new certificate.
This will lead to a pop-up message on Apple devices with information about the new certificate for radius06.uni-muenster.de, which must then be trusted.

On Thursday, November 20, there was a disruption to a central network service between 6:15 a.m. and 7:35 a.m.

Between November 18, 2025, and November 24, 2025, there were disruptions in the retrieval of the cultural semester ticket for students via the SelfService Portal. The disruption has now been resolved.

The university's video streaming service has experienced disruptions. Among other things, this was causing significant delays in the playback of videos on our websites. The problem has been solved on Thursday, 23th October at 15:00h.

The Germany semester ticket for students can now be purchased again in SelfService in the “Semester Tickets” app. If the button does not work, you can still use the link in the red note in the app.

Due to updates, Follow-Me Printing will be temporarily unavailable on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 5 p.m.

Logging in with student ID cards on the multifunction printers was disrupted between approximately 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The disruption has now been resolved.

On Monday, 29th Septenber from 11:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. the Sciebo-instance of the University of Münster has was not not functional. Meanwhile the problem has been solved.

To further increase IT security in the university network, access to internal university and departmental services from the “uni-ms” and “eduroam” Wi-Fi networks will be restricted from October 1, 2025. A VPN connection will then also be required for many university services.

Due to current security vulnerabilities, we strongly recommend updating your Zoom client to at least version 6.4.

The University of Münster's email servers were temporarily blocked by some email providers (reputation blacklist), which meant that some outgoing emails were not delivered.
If you receive a notification that one or more of your emails has been rejected, please resend it. The problem has now been resolved.

Until around 3 p.m. (21.07.2025) there were problems with e-mail delivery. The problem has now been resolved.

Several cables were destroyed during excavation work, causing disruptions and outages in the network in the period from July 18-22, 2025.

Between 22:30 on 01.07. and 12:00 today, the use of individual services was impaired due to a malfunction in the Uni Cloud. The fault has now been rectified.

Between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm yesterday (26.06.25) there were disruptions in the use of the IT portal (including OTP generators, e-mail, etc.). The fault has now been rectified.

Between 26.06.25 and 14.07.25 the LaTex compiler of the Overleaf integration of Sciebo had to be deactivated for security reasons. The Overleaf integration is now available again.

Between 10:30 am and 12:00 today there were disruptions in the use of the OpenSource mail system (perMail, IMAP). The fault has now been rectified.

The registration procedure for Mattermost will be changed on 01.07.2025. Please adjust the procedure now to prevent registration problems later. You can find information on this in the FAQs at

On 15.04. and 16.04. until approx. 1 p.m. there were disruptions to the use of Follow Me Printing. These have now been rectified.

Between 06.03.25 and 07.03.25 there was urgent maintenance work in the SAP Human Resources System (HCM). The maintenance work has now been successfully completed.

On Thursday, 13.03.2025, 2-factor authentication will be activated for many services of the Uni-Cloud. This affects JupyterHub, Tutor-AI and educast, among others.

For operational reasons IT support, service desk and printing services at Einsteinstraße 60 will be closed from 12 – 14 o’clock on Tuesday, 04.03.2025.

Access data entered will be forwarded to the attackers.
Do not open any links contained in the e-mails described, do not reply to them and delete them immediately!
It is no longer necessary to report these fraudulent e-mails, as countermeasures have already been initiated.

Restructuring measures are being taken to improve protection against external cyber attacks. On 06.03.24 between 6-7 a.m there will probably be several short interruptions of the entire internet traffic of the university. This will affect the VPN dial-in and the university's services (e.g. websites) which will not be accessible from the internet.

Due to a vulnerability in earlier versions, at least client version 5.16.10 from 20.11.2023 (currently version 5.17.5-7 from 31.01.2024) will be required from 26.02.2024 to participate in Zoom meetings at the University of Münster.

We therefore recommend updating the affected Zoom clients before the above date. After the guidelines have been tightened, participation in meetings is still possible via web browser. The auto-update function of the client is activated by default.

If you use both Acrobat Pro and Adobe CC with your Microsoft Entra account (formerly Microsoft Azure) at Münster University, it is possible that you will have to select a profile the next time you log in to either software.
According to available information from Adobe, you can always select the profile for Adobe CC in this case, since this profile also ensures access to Acrobat Pro.

If the Microsoft Entra account of the University of Münster is also used for another Adobe account (e.g. for a private Adobe account), each account receives its own profile. When logging in, the corresponding desired profile can then be selected.

From 18.09.2023 the WLAN authentication server radius06 uses a new certificate. This will probably lead to a popup message on Apple devices with information about the new certificate for radius06.uni-muenster.de, which must then be trusted.

Due to new regulations, new digital IDs are only valid for two years and impersonal digital IDs will only be issued with an email address but no owner information.
Due to the renaming of the university, email addresses with @wwu.de will no longer be included in new digital IDs.

A Confluence outage on Wednesday, September 6 at around 16:00 unfortunately meant that we had to use a backup from the previous day (Tuesday, September 5, 19:10) to restore. Changes after this time have therefore unfortunately been lost. We apologize for any data loss and will strive to achieve better availability of this service in the future.

On July 20, 2023, vendor support for Sophos Endpoint and Server Protection (Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows, Linux, and macOS) ends. Devices that continue to use the products after this date will no longer be protected against the latest threats. For private endpoints, you can migrate to Sophos Home Premium free of charge (https://www.uni-muenster.de/IT/en/services/arbeitsplatz/software/sophos.html). The migration of the service endpoints has already been taken care of by the IVVs.
If you are unsure whether the new Sophos version is already installed, you will see a blue program icon with a white "S" in your taskbar. If you do not see this, please contact your local IVV .

Between 10:12 a.m. and 12:18 p.m. today, there was a malfunction of the OTP server (generation of one-time passwords, e.g. to establish a VPN connection). The malfunction has been resolved in the meantime.

Securing the IT portal via 2-factor security In the future, access to the IT portal will be secured in such a way that it will then only be possible with password+one-time password (OTP) or with digital ID. All users who have not yet set up 2-factor security or 2-factor security with MTAN in the IT portal will be asked to change their settings by circular email.

Between 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. yesterday, there were disruptions in the use of the mTAN procedure (SMS dispatch for password changes, for example). The disruption has since been resolved.

On 06.07. Unified Communication will not be available for approx. 2 hours starting at 17:00 due to operational reasons. Thank you for your understanding.

On 03.07.2023 between 18:00 and 06:00 on the following day the "personal storage space" will not be available for operational reasons. Please close all open files that are saved on the storage space until 18:00 to prevent data loss. Thank you for your understanding.

Until approx. 14 pm today there were impairments in the use of Outlook. The problem has now been resolved.

At the moment there are restrictions in the use of the Multifunction Printers. We are working on the solution and will inform you as soon as the malfunction is over.

Information from Department 6.4: In June 2023 (Monday, 12th to Friday, 16th - CW 24) the log-in to CRIS.WWU will not be possible for one week. We will do a comprehensive system update during this time. During the period of the update, you will not be able to access or edit the data in the system. Websites that integrate data from CRIS.WWU will be provided with the required data (latest status from before the update).

On Wednesday, 24.05.2023, starting at 08:15 a.m., conversion work will be carried out on the central user database will take place. The IT portal, start assistant, person search, intranet search, group administration (WWUBEN), etc. will not be available for a short time during the conversion work. On May 23, 2023, the d.3 document management will be unavailable or only available with severe restrictions for the whole day due to maintenance work. This affects, among other things, the retrieval or storage of student and invoice documents that are processed within the workflow as well as documents that are used in the online application process (OAV). Also affected are documents that are stored or retrieved directly in the d.3 client, e.g. red and yellow mail, student index cards or university law documents.

Between 9:00 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. today, the use of the UC-WebClient / OpenScape UC communications service was impaired. The disruption has been resolved in the meantime.

On Tuesday, 09.05.23 between 9:00 am and 11:00 the interface between CRIS and Imperia was not available. During this time, the editing and publishing of documents via the flex module "Integrate research database" was affected. The systems are operational again.

 

Due to maintenance work, the SLCM service portal will not be available today from 12:00 to approx. 12:30. Affected is the student management and the retrieval of the NRW/VGM semester ticket via the Launchpad. The retrieval of the ticket via the ticket store of the German railroad is still possible.

 

Between 04/27 and 04/28/2013, Sciebo integration on the multifunction copiers was affected. Direct printing from Sciebo and scanning to Sciebo was not possible. The malfunction has been resolved in the meantime.

Due to extensive maintenance work, Follow-Me Printing (INPAS) will not be available on Wednesday, 12.04. from 6 pm to approx. 8 pm. During this time, neither Follow-Me prints can be retrieved nor new ones created.

On Sunday, 02.04.2023 Zoom will not be available due to migration work. There will be a switch to Zoom X from Telekom. Due to the hosting on servers in Germany, a higher level of data protection can be guaranteed.
After the migration, Zoom will be available again as usual.

Until approx. 12:40 pm today there were impairments in the use of the SSH jumphost. The problem has now been resolved.

Between 10.03.23 and 14.03.23, there were disruptions in the use of the second factor via the "Mobile phone for mTAN" procedure. The disruption has since been resolved.

Due to the shutdown of the "SMS in the landline" service by Telekom, it is no longer possible to use a landline number for the mTAN procedure in the IT portal.

On Monday, 17 October, a new certificate was installed for the radius06 server. This may cause problems with WLAN connections, but these should be solved by setting up the WLAN connection again. Already on 16.09.2021 around 07:00 pm the maintenance work on the eLectures could be successfully completed. All functions are fully usable again.

The current SPSS licenses will run until 9 September 2021. However, these can still be used in a grace period of 30 days, i.e. until 30 October 2021. Between 06:30 am and 09:10 am today, the display of journals in the ZEUS time recording system was affected. The problem has now been resolved.

Between 01.07.21 and 05.10.21 a security vulnerability occurred in the print service of various Windows versions. The connection via remote desktop with the Print&Pay printers is possible again and the security hole is closed.

Last week and today there were impairments in the use of the remote desktop gateway server wwugw.wwu.de and rdg.wwu.de. The problem has now been resolved.

On October 21, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. the older telephone system of the University/University of Applied Sciences Münster will be updated. This may result in temporary failures in the telephone service. The affected telephones are the Sopho Ergoline. Not affected are the telephones of the type Unify.

As announced some months before and following the redommendations of our team "IT-Security", the outdated protocols TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 will be fully deactivated on thursday, 01/08/2019, 4p.m.  on our Webservers. That means that very outdated webbrowsers will not be able to load content of www.uni-muenster.de and several other servers.
