Information for the Media

The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Münster will honor the Dalai Lama with the Honorary Doctorate degree on 20. September in the central main building of the University. On 21. September the Dalai Lama will discuss with students of the Graduate Schools of Northrhine-Westphalia and he will give a public lecture on the topic "Universal Responsibility in Science and Society“.

Media representatives may participate, after accrediation, in the Honorary Doctorate ceremony on 20. September, 15.00 h, in the Schloss at Münster (Schlossplatz 2), and in the public event on 21. September, 14.30 h, in the Halle Münsterland, where the Dalai Lama will give his lecture. Accreditation for both events will be organizes by the press office of the University of Münster.

For an accrediation, each person is requested to submit not later than 27. August 2007 by postal mail (Pressestelle der Universität Münster, Schlossplatz 2, 48149 Münster) or Fax (0251/83-22258, 83-21445) the following materials:

• completed accrediation form (see here) with a confirmation of the medium for which the representative is working,
• a copy of the official press identification card, valid for the year 2007

Due to security measures and limited number of seats available (especially for the Honorary Doctorate ceremony), we kindly ask for your understanding that only complete and timely submitted applications can be considered. Submission of the application does not automatically mean that the accrediation is approved. In case of approval, you will receive a confirmation along with further information early in September.

As we expect a large number of applications for accreditation, it is likely that not all of them can be approved. This is especially the case for free journalists and photographers without being commissioned by an editorial office.
