Equal opportunity in FB 06

In order to steadily improve equal opportunity efforts within the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences (FB 06), the faculty board elects an equal opportunity representative and members to serve on an equal opportunity committee every two years.

The equal opportunity faculty committee consists of the following members:

  • the faculty-level equal opportunity representative
  • at least four and no more than eight deputies to the faculty-level equal opportunity representative from “Status group 1: Professors and academic staff
  • at least one and no more than four members from “Status group 2: Academic supporting staff
  • at least one and no more than four members from “Status group 3: Students” (one-year term)
  • interested and qualified men from all status groups in FB 06 (max. six)

Gender Equality Plan of FB 06

The current Gender Equality Plan (2023 – 2027) continues to advance the goals put forth in the faculty’s previous Gender Equality Plan of 26 June 2019. It centres around the five core objectives stated in the current Equal Opportunity Framework Plan of the University of Münster (5 July 2023), details the measures to be implemented for achieving the goals for the faculty and augments the plan with two additional fields of action (1a and 4a).

Percentage of women staff in FB 06

In accordance with its stated objectives, the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences (FB 06) promotes equal opportunity for both women and men at the University of Münster. To this end, the faculty is working to increase the percentage of women appointed to W2- and W3-level professorships to 45.10% and to W1-level professorships to 60%.

Continuing education courses offered by the Equal Opportunity Office of the University of Münster

You can find information about the courses in the continuing education series M*i*T Perspekti*V*e on our continuing education portal. The series is primarily designed to address issues important to non-academic women staff members at the University of Münster. The seminars provide participants with key competence and social resources to enable them to handle the day-to-day challenges of working life in a routine manner. Interested men are cordially welcome to participate as well.

Practical support for institutes and committees: Brochure on gender equality aspects in appointment procedures

The equal opportunity committee of FB 06 has produced a brochure on the rights and obligations of all parties in appointment procedures with respect to gender equality. In this compact overview, we offer concrete procedural tools for appointment committees and explain how to implement the new regulations contained in the State Equal Opportunity Act [Landesgleichstellungsgesetz, LGG NRW].
