General Information
Tasks of the tutors:
The tutors should lead and supervise the weekly small group tutorials during the lecture period. In the tutorial groups, the solutions to the exercises are usually discussed, questions on the current topics of the lecture are answered and important terms and sentences from the lecture are discussed. Regular correction of homework is also part of the programme.
Your benefits:
The benefits of becoming a tutorial assistant are numerous. As a tutorial group leader, you are employed and paid by the university. In addition, as an exercise group leader, you deal intensively with the content of the corresponding lecture. This allows you to develop a deeper understanding of the topics both through the discussions in the exercise group and by correcting the exercises. As the material covered in the beginners' lectures is particularly important for further lectures and examinations, you also benefit from this activity in your own studies. Additionally, the role provides opportunities to develop public speaking skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. These abilities are highly sought after in a variety of professional contexts. Furthermore, the experience can be directly applied to one's own academic pursuits.
Our expectations:
Above all, it is expected that the tutors will have a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter of the lecture they are supervising. Ideally, they will also demonstrate enthusiasm for the content and a willingness to address any comprehension difficulties that students may have.
Eligibility for credit: tba
