Über dieses Buch

Codex TR-Iüne 204-2 is a comprehensive collection of music and poetry, featuring 116 poems set to music with notation, alongside 48 instrumental pieces across 212 pages. The manuscript was compiled in the second half of the nineteenth century by an anonymous compiler.
The critical text edition contains the poems, which are predominantly in Ottoman Turkish but also includes pieces in Persian, as well as multilingual compositions. The text edition was based on a wide range of manuscripts and printed anthologies of lyrics as key reference sources.
These groundbreaking text and music editions, presented in five volumes, make the codex accessible to modern scholarship for the very first time. In terms of its sources and methodology, the text edition aims to serve as a valuable resource for interdisciplinary research at the intersection of Ottoman literary and musical culture.
