At the Institute of Business Chemistry, a position is available from the earliest possible date as:

Research Assistant (E13 TV-L)

with 65% of regular weekly working hours. The position is initially fixed-term for 3 years, but can be extended within the framework of doctoral studies. The teaching obligation is 4 SWS (semester hours) in full-time employment.

Your Tasks:

The focus of your work will be research and project work, particularly in the field of data management, data analysis and modeling of electrochemical energy storage systems and their business administration and sustainable operation. This includes market analyses, life cycle assessments and technology evaluations for storage technologies such as lithium- or sodium-ion batteries.

Furthermore, you will deal with the business fields and production technologies for the manufacture of the required components of these storage technologies and have a comprehensive view of the entire value chain.

In addition, you will support our team in teaching through seminars and exercises as well as in supervising seminar and master theses. Active participation in the chair’s activities is expected. A doctoral project will be associated with this position.

Our Expectations:

You have successfully completed a Master’s degree in Industrial Chemistry or Chemistry. Advantages include study focuses in the field of electrochemical energy storage technology, its business models and associated production technologies, as well as possibly empirical work/thesis or comparable experience in this area. Good English skills and confident handling of common software products are required.
