Graduation of Dr. Tim Greitemeier

The official graduation ceremony took place on July 24, 2026, at the University of Münster’s Schloss, attended by colleagues, family, and friends. With this achievement, Tim becomes the first alumnus to graduate under supervision of Prof. Simon Lux.

In his doctoral thesis, Tim examined the global battery industry, focusing on areas such as technological innovations, supply chains, and strategic market analyses. Using data science and patent analysis, he identified pioneering manufacturing methods—such as the energy-efficient "dry coating" of electrodes, which eliminates the need for toxic solvents. His research also sheds light on dependencies regarding raw material supplies and highlights China's dominant role in the value chain. At the same time, he analyzed how companies and regions can boost their technological sovereignty and competitiveness by leveraging specific expertise. The aim of his work is to provide decision-makers with robust data to help make battery production more sustainable and independent.
