Informational Events “Postdoc in Germany“ in Porto Alegre, São Paulo, Montevideo and Buenos Aires

In March 2026, four sessions of the workshop “Postdoc in Germany“ will take place in Latin America: in Brazil, events are scheduled in Porto Alegre (03 March) and São Paulo (05 March). Further events will be held in Montevideo, Uruguay (10 March), and in Buenos Aires, Argentina (12 March). The events in Buenos Aires, São Paulo, and Porto Alegre focus on the postdoc level, while the informational event in Montevideo covers both the PhD level and the postdoc level.

Apart from the event in Montevideo, which covers both PhD and postdoc levels, the events are aimed at early-career researchers who are at the end of their PhD or up to four years after obtaining their diploma and who are seeking a research position in Germany. Participation is free, and registration in advance is required.

The events are organised by a consortium of German universities, funding organisations, institutions, and local institutions in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. The programme includes talks on funding opportunities, short presentations by the participating institutions, and individual consultations for the interested parties.

Cíntia Toth Gonçalves, the head of the liaison office of the Brazil Centre in São Paulo, will represent the University of Münster in both the pitch and the consultation, providing valuable insights into funding and research opportunities in Münster. Also represented are AvH, DAAD, DFG, Euraxess, FU Berlin, TUM, UA Ruhr, and the University of Potsdam. In São Paulo and Porto Alegre, the University of Heidelberg and the Ibero-American Institute (Instituto Ibero-Americano) will also be present. The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production (FFB) will participate in Porto Alegre.
