The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) recently launched a brand-new program aimed at deepening and expanding cooperation between Brazilian and German research groups: Propar, the Germany-Paraná Research Program. This bilateral funding program is a collaboration between DAAD and Fundação Araucária from the Brazilian state of Paraná. Propar's goal is to promote project-based research collaboration between a German university/research institution and one based in Paraná. The program supports the international mobility of researchers and doctoral students as part of the research project, with a particular emphasis on involving early-career researchers.

Propar complements the traditional Probral program by DAAD and Capes, which is open to researchers from all over Brazil, and Propasp by DAAD and FAPESP, which is aimed at researchers specifically from the state of São Paulo in Brazil.

Deadline: 20 May 2024

Propar applications must be submitted to DAAD on the German side (via www.mydaad.de) and to Fundação Araucária on the Brazilian side.
