History of the Town of Billerbeck
About the Project
From July 2009 to December 2012, the Institute for Comparative Urban History compiled a history of the town of Billerbeck with the financial support of entrepreneur Wolfgang Suwelack. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Werner Freitag, a modern publication was created that deals primarily with small town research. In cooperation with local experts, doctoral students Constanze Sieger and Dörthe Gruttmann were able to look into various aspects of the town's history. The results are presented on 702 richly illustrated pages offering new research findings to specialists as well as providing an easily understandable read for those interested in local history.
