Dr. Ingo Wolf, newly elected Chairman of the Board of the NRW Sports Foundation, visited the WWU on 17.12.21 and met with the Top Sports Officer, Prof. Dr. Bernd Strauss, Jörg Verhoeven (HSP Director) and Dr. Barbara Halberschmidt (Top Sports Programme) for an exchange on the implementation of the concept of the Partner University of Top Sports at the WWU. Dr. Wolf, former NRW Minister of the Interior and Sports and former hockey league player, has supported the interests of sports for a long time. Among other things, the concept of NRW sports schools (including in Münster) was launched during his term as Sports Minister. In a very positive discussion that lasted almost two hours, Dr. Wolf expressed his great appreciation for the WWU's efforts and the network it has built up to optimally support top athletes at the WWU Münster in their studies and competitive sports.
