Junior Research Group Leader awarded Venia Legendi

PD Dr. rer. nat. Nermin Seda Kehr (born in Turkey) received the Venia Legendi in Organic Chemistry from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy on Thursday, April 15, 2021. The designation Venia Legendi certifies her status to teach at the university level.

An independent research group leader at SoN, she conducts research on advanced multifunctional nanobiomaterials for local drug delivery and cell/biomaterial interactions. Invited on research stays at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Dr. Kerr has brought additional experience and cutting-edge techniques to her research at the University of Münster.

Dr. Kehr's research is supported by more than 1.2 million euros from the German Research Foundation (DFG). With results published in more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, she is also a renowned reviewer for international and national journals (e.g. Advanced Materials or Angewandte Chemie) and funding agencies (e.g. for the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Agence Nationale de la Recherche (France), Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research).
