
Although our research is theoretical, it is closely connected to experimental and industrial efforts in quantum technologies. We work in close collaboration with experimental groups to develop theoretical concepts that can be implemented in realistic photonic quantum systems, while maintaining a strong focus on the fundamental principles of quantum information science.
Our experimental collaborations include photonic quantum technology groups at Paderborn University and the University of Münster, where we investigate the generation, manipulation, and transmission of multipartite and higher-dimensional photonic quantum states.
We also collaborate with industrial partners, including Deutsche Telekom T-Labs, ID Quantique, QuiX Quantum, and QC Design, to address challenges arising in quantum communication, quantum networking, and quantum error correction.
All of our research directions are supported through several nationally and internationally funded research projects, including the BMFTR Quantum Futur project, Quantum Secure Communication with Adaptive Layers and Ranks (Q-SCALAR), and the German–Israeli Foundation (GIF) project Graph States, Entanglement and Quantum Computation.
